 Bloor Homes have submitted a planning application for 450 new homes on the Land East of Roundways following the engagement event they held in the summer which was also attended by your ward councillors.

 The submitted application is very similar to proposals discussed at the event except they are now proposing to reserve land for “use by the existing local primary school” instead of reserving land for a whole new school.

 Ward councillors remain opposed to the scheme for a variety of reasons - including access, transport impact, sustainability and the impact on services - but most importantly object to the scheme because it would concrete over much loved and widely used Green Belt land.

 Additionally we’ve engaged with the South Glos administration to ensure this land was not included in the draft Local Plan which will determine where development will go in South Glos over the next 15 years. That plan has now been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate prior to adoption - so it’s doubly disappointing that a developer is trying force this speculative application through at the last minute.
