Parish Council meeting tonight
Tonight: Westerleigh and Coalpit Heath Parish Council will be meeting in The Miners to discuss their response to the Edward Ware Homes application for up to 860 new homes in Coalpit Heath, off Frog Lane. The adjacent application for 450 homes at Roundways will also be discussed.
When: Tonight! Monday 13th July, 7pm
Where: The Miners Social Club, Badminton Road
Members of the public are invited to ask questions and make comments on agenda items at the start of the meeting - so this is an excellent opportunity for residents to make their views known on the huge scale of proposed housing development at Coalpit Heath.
As a reminder, ward councillors oppose these schemes for a variety of reasons: These sites are in the Green Belt; do not have infrastructure to support them; are not allocated in South Glos’ draft Local Plan currently undergoing public examination; and are therefore unwanted by the council.
We have put a website together with a lot of detail covering the planning history of these sites, frequently asked questions, and much more detail on why we oppose these sites here:
Residents need to have their say on the planning applications themselves so their views can be considered by the planning case officer. These can be found here:
