Development at Roundways Rejected Again - For Now!

The South Glos planning committee meeting to agree what its decision would have been on the Land East of Roundways finished at around 19:30 this evening. 

I spoke as a ward member and Tristan and other councillor colleagues spoke passionately about why the land at Roundways is important. When it came to the vote the committee voted unanimously that they would have REFUSED the application.

This doesn’t mean the houses will definitely not be built, because Bloor Homes have appealed to the Government to make the final decision - but it does mean we get to fight another day, and today’s decision will be crucial in defending the appeal. 

Huge thanks to the residents who attended and spoke so well from the public gallery - and Westerleigh Parish Council too who also made a very convincing argument to committee members.

The next stage is the appeal itself which starts on November 24th - more details to follow.
