450 Homes at Roundways? Online Consultation Now Open

Bloor Homes online consultation about their proposal to build 450 homes on the land East of Roundways is now open - you can access it at https://bloorcoalpit.co.uk

Ward councillors will be opposing this development on many grounds - including:

• It’s not in the South Glos Local Plan that has been put forward to the Planning Inspectorate for adoption. 
   
• It will add more traffic to already congested roads and place more impact on our already overloaded local services. 
   
• The development would destroy much loved and used fields which are in the Green Belt. 
   
• There is a risk from very old mine workings under the fields. 

We understand there is a need for new housing at the right price so that generations of local people can continue to live and work locally, but the Local Plan has run the numbers and concluded that Roundways isn’t the way to do that.

Instead developers should be focusing on the sites (some of which are nearby) which the Local Plan does promote. 

The Local Plan sites are the right way get proper, controlled development that considers the impact on roads, infrastructure and services.
