Damson Bridge safety improvements

Members of your Focus Team met a highways engineer and the Executive Member responsible for transport on site before the pandemic to discuss options for making the bridge safer for all users.

Claire had previously got the council to put down white lines to mark out an area for pedestrians, but it was very narrow.

We kept pushing to make it safer for pedestrians and for dangerous potholes to be fixed. We were delighted when the council agreed to resurface the road and put down new road markings. 

We are still pushing for a separate foot and cycle bridge.
