How to Object

The Green Belt land east of Coalpit Heath is under threat of large-scale housing development from two different developers who are submitting two separate planning applications.

It is important for concerned residents to object to both applications.

In our view both applications are highly speculative. They are both contrary to the draft South Glos Local Plan due to be adopted later this year.

We believe there are huge concerns over the ability for local services and transport infrastructure to cope with development of the proposed scale; huge concerns over the loss of valuable Green Belt in its purpose to prevent Bristol merging with Yate; and huge concerns over the safety of houses built in an area with such a rich coal-mining heritage.

The Objection Reasons section below provides significant detail on why we object to these applications in planning terms.

Please make your views known in the following ways:

The Bloor Homes application for up to 450 homes on the land south of Woodside Road and east of Roundways has planning reference P25/02534/O and can be found on the South Glos website here. Please have your say in the Make a Comment section.

The Edward Ware Homes application for up to 860 homes on the land north of Woodside Road and around Frog Lane has planning reference P26/01208/O and can be found on the South Glos website here. Please have your say in the Make a Comment section.
