At last night’s Development Control Committee, South Gloucestershire Council deferred a decision on the application for a six-screen cinema and new restaurants on the overflow car park at Yate.
Councillors had outstanding queries about landscaping and highways issues and about the contribution to be made by the developers.
Commenting, Steve Webb said:
“This project has the huge support of the large majority of Yate residents and time is clearly of the essence. I hope that any outstanding issues can be resolved as a matter of urgency so that approval can be given at the May meeting of the committee. After years of campaigning for a cinema, it is vital that we do not let this opportunity slip through our fingers at the final stage”.
