South Gloucestershire Council acted out of order by burning out the cycle signs in the Long Down Avenue segregated cycle and pedestrian footpath.
Neither the public, the Parish Council, nor the local representative, Cllr James Arrowsmith, were consulted or contacted over the change in the path - yet the signs were removed. The burning out of the signs has caused confusion and damaged the tarmac, which will no doubt cost the taxpayer more money.
Clearly the council has learnt nothing from the A4174 cycle-lane debacle by continuing to make decisions behind closed doors.
If you want to see the safe segregated path return and are fed up of your money being wasted, sign below.
We the undersigned call for South Gloucestershire Council to reverse their decision to change the segregated cycle and pedestrian footpath into a shared use path, to replace the burnt out signs in the pavement and to ensure all future transport and infrastructure decisions actively involve the public by a consultation process.
