The Tories have decided to put another 3000 houses around Yate. No, not the ones north of Brimsham Park, these are EXTRA on top of that. The bulk of the development would stretch from north of the football ground, across the Iron Acton bypass down to Nibley and then on to Westerleigh. And they'd nearly join up with the 1,500 houses they want to build at Coalpit Heath. As if that side of town was not chaotic enough at peak times! They are driving it through, despite every objection. And with a Tory Government, Tory Metro Mayor and Tory council, they control all the decision making bodies. So what can we do?
Focus has put a detailed set of objections in, and will be fighting to get your voice heard at an inquiry before an independent inspector. If you think we should stand up against these plans being imposed on us, please let us know by completing our short survey here (opens in new window).
