South Gloucestershire Council is currently running a consultation as part of a feasibility study into options for a new motorway junction, 18a, to link the M4 with the A4174 ring road. The consultation runs until Monday 16th October and it's vital everyone has their say. You can read more about the options the Conservative-run council are considering and complete the official survey online.
Your Focus Team is also keen to know your views. Some people have told us they think a new junction would make access to the motorway easier and take the pressure of lorries away from local roads. Others have raised concerns with us about the amount of traffic that will be pushed through villages like Westerleigh and the residential roads in the south of Yate. Many Pucklechurch residents are worried about the impact of the eastern option on their village. Some are concerned that building more roads simply encourages more traffic.
